Bringing European eco-innovative technology solutions to MENA
SwitchMed B2B events – connecting EU Eco-Innovation technology to the businesses of the Mediterranean region
The business networking activities of the SwitchMed B2B events aim to reinforce internationalization of start-ups and SMEs in Southern Mediterranean through improvements of their capacity to manage innovation, greening and resource efficiency, and to enhance the cooperation between businesses and innovation networks in Europe with Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia. Local businesses from the four associated Mediterranean countries will have the opportunity to meet technology providers and business promoters of eco-innovative solutions with a full scale and running market business model, applicable to the local economic and industrial context. These actions are implemented by UNIDO in the framework of SwitchMed, based on UNIDO’s experience in investment promotion networks with the aim to promote industrial partnerships in the form of a technology transfer (sourcing, licencing, etc.) and joint ventures. By promoting business partnerships between local businesses and EU Eco-Innovative companies, UNIDO together with local partners increases the potential for international cooperation between the Mediterranean region and the EU, creating an area of shared prosperity on the principles of a sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development.
UNIDO together with local institutional partners such as industry associations and technical centres will organize the national event in the countries of Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia, to effectively connect the interests of the national industry stakeholders with the presented partners from the Eco-Innovation solutions.
