Daniel Hires, Manager of the Switchers plateform participated in the summit to meet green entrepreneurs in Egypt, connect with the local ecosystem to identify opportunities for the community, and to discuss collaboration possibilities with other entrepreneurship support and funding organizations:
“RiseUp is a fantastic networking opportunity since you meet everyone relevant to the Egyptian startup scene and many from the region. As an advocate of impact startups, it was particularly great to see impact investment on the program, and the panel discussion was a great opportunity to meet others looking to build up this sector.”
This trend ties into SwitchMed’s recently launched impact financing initiative, The Switchers Fund. Its goal is to make the switch to a green, circular and social economy in the Mediterranean a reality by supporting eco and social innovators through a mix of grants, loans and equity participations.
