SwitchMed offers international networking opportunity for its Switchers in solar energy

@BGS Solar Summit

On 20-21 November, Fadi Bkirat, one of our Switchers from Palestine was able to attend the 2nd BGS Solar Summit in Tunisia. As a sponsor of the event, SwitchMed provided Mr. Bkirat, as president of the Palestinian Global Energy and Environment Center (CEEP), with the prime opportunity to give a presentation on his initiative as part of the MENA stream.

At the second day of the summit, Mr. Bkirat, gave attendees important insight into the MENA market outlook with his presentation on Energy and Environment in Palestine.
It was his first official participation in an international conference and he was able to explain the new regulations recently passed in favour of solar energy in Palestine.
Following this, he received positive feedback and interest to cooperate and invest, given that Palestine is a country with plenty of sunshine.
There was great appreciation for the ‘win-win’ model that Mr. Bkirat was proposing with the favorable conditions, including the high potential of the local start-up scene, low labour costs and reasonable profits teamed with a good payback period of 3-4 years out of the 25 year project lifetime.
Our Switcher and founder of Rack Teck , found this experience to be of particular importance to his sustainable business in solar energy due to the new network of professional contacts he built and international exposure he received while attending. He also expressed great gratitude for the financial support received from SwitchMed to travel and attend the summit in Tunis. Another benefit of attending was the chance to meet and connect with fellow Switcher from Algeria, Mr. Adel Baba-Aissa, Director of Renewable Energy Partner.
